Ford Named 'Truck Line of Texas;' MyFord Touch Wins 'Outstanding Feature' by Texas Auto Writers

Dallas, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ — The full line of Ford trucks today was named “Truck Line of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in the country’s largest truck market, and MyFord Touch won the group’s Outstanding Feature.

“The auto writers in the world’s biggest pickup market know firsthand what attributes matter most to customers who count on their trucks to get the job done every day,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas. “We are honored that TAWA recognizes our full line of trucks as important to customers in their state and around the country.”

Ford has the largest share of the light- and heavy-duty truck market in North America — 39 percent. And it’s growing. Ford’s share is up 3.5 percentage points over last year. Through September, Ford sold 385,879 trucks. That’s 118,000 more than the nearest competitor. Texas represents 20 percent of Ford’s total truck sales. Ford F-Series trucks have won more awards than any other light- and heavy-duty truck in the past two years.

MyFord Touch, Ford’s innovative driver-connect technology, was introduced this summer in the 2011 Ford Edge.
