Renovation Project Expected To Begin Soon
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ford Motor Co. is expected make an announcement soon regarding the future of it’s Louisville Assembly Plant.
The company’s vice president of manufacturing in North America said the Fern Valley Road Plant will be gutted by the beginning of next year.
Ford is expected to invest at least $500 million to renovate the Louisville Assembly Plant for multiple makes of fuel-efficient vehicles.
The plant is expected to reopen late next year.
These announcements came as Ford’s November sales figures were reported. They were up overall compared to last year.
Sales of the F-Series truck and Expedition increased, but sales were down for the Explorer, the Lincoln Navigator and Mercury Mountaineer.
